Quins win the Texas Premier Championships
Game Photos: Click Here
The Dallas Harlequins traveled to the Woodlands RFC in Houston to play in the final game of the regular season for the TRU Championship.
The Quins came out firing on all cylinders with an excellent example of pride, guts, and class against a motivated Woodlands side. The Quins are in the processes of gearing up for the start to the 2006 Super League season and showed excellent form in all aspects of attack, control, and defense. Leading the game all the way the Quins continued to fight through a hot and humid day to be victorious 40-24. The Quins continue a reign of 25 years as TRU Champions in the 35 year history of the club.
The 2nd XV showed amazing discipline under tough start/stop conditions to pull off a great win in the last minutes of full-time to complete a great pair of road wins. The 2nd XV won 17-13.
A special thanks goes to the dedication of all the players, fans, and especially the dedication of our superb coaching staff.
Head Coach: Michael Engelbrecht
Assistant Coach: Mark McCloy (Freddy)
Assistant Coach: John Dale
Please continue to join us in our upcoming USA Rugby Super League games. The Quins face the Kansas City Blues on March 18th, 2006 at our home pitch, Glencoe Park, at 3PM.

NEW COACH takes the reins
| 12.16.05 |
The Harlequins Division I and Rugby Super League side welcomes Michael Engelbrecht as head coach. Engelbrecht is an 18-year member of the Harlequins Rugby Club. Prior to accepting the head coaching position he was head coach for the Harlequins U-19 team, the Colts. In 2005 the Colts captured the Texas Rugby Union (TRU) and Western Rugby Union Championships.
“I want to be able to facilitate the development of a true team culture where players take ownership for the team and their individual improvement and performance. I believe our on field success will be a demonstration of how far along that path we've traveled,” said Engelbrecht.
He's also a coach for the USA Eagles U-19's team which competed in the 2005 U-19 World Championship last April in South Africa . Other coaching credentials include TRU U-19’s Select Side, TRU Collegiate Select Side and USA Rugby Level I and II accredited. Engelbrecht is also certified as a Course Leader in the new USA Rugby Coach Development Program.
