    Matt Frings S&C Coach

Strength In Unity: Frings To Head S&C For Quins Again In 2021 Dallas Harlequins RFC are excited to announce the retention of Matt Frings as Strength and Conditioning Coach for the upcoming 2021 campaign.

Continuing his role for a third season, Frings’ professional rugby experience in strength & conditioning, has proven to be an evolving area of development in the playing squad’s ability to better prepare, train and recover in line with the demands of the game.

Matt’s experience working within storied rugby setups such as Wigan Warriors (Rugby League) and Preston Grasshoppers (Rugby Union), alongside his continued development in the field within the US, is a tremendous asset and quality resource for the playing squad.

A dedicated and popular contributor both on and off-the field, Matt’s support has aided a progressive upturn in onfield performance, a trend that he’s already investing further into, working closely with the senior squad on individual and tailored plans in the current off-season.

Last year we began to really turn a corner in terms of executing the expansive yet physical style of play we are aiming to deliver. I think the boys enjoyed being on the right side of those physical contests, and the drive to put the work in over the closed season has been evident across the squad.

The players have really been going at it and I think we can expect to be entering the season with some real energy.
    Matt Frings

As well as overseeing the squad’s efforts in physical preparation, Matt continues in his role as a leading player having captained the D1 side in the 2020 season. Featured predominantly in the back-row and widely respected for a consistent featuring at the top of the team’s tackle count, Frings this season is looking to push on with focus on increased gametime at Hooker.

“Matt’s role has grown in significance & impact each year-and his devotion to helping the guys this Summer alone has been first class. For our guys to have Matt as a resource is obviously a huge support to their rugby experience and ambitions with us-but it’s how invested he is on a personal level with players that gives us (and them) so much more. On the field, he is consistently one of our top performers, leads with his actions, skilled operator, plays with grit-at 26, he’s got all his best years ahead of him and that’s a really exciting prospect. He's a key part of our setup in every way.”
