Dallas Harlequins Announce Elaine Vassie as Director of Rugby
We are excited to announce that Elaine Vassie will be joining the Dallas Harlequins Rugby Football Club as Director of Rugby for the next 3 seasons. Prior to joining the Quins, Elaine has been a National Team Coach with the Scottish Rugby Union, working during the 2016 6-nations campaign, Director of Rugby with Manchester RFC and Griffins RFC along with coaching positions in Italy and the UK before relocating to Texas with her husband Danny to pursue her passion of promoting and developing the game.
“Having had some very positive conversations about the aspirations of Dallas Harlequins with key members across the club I’m delighted to accept the post of Director of Rugby on a 3 year contract. Whilst out of the country I’ve followed the development of the game both on a national level with the addition of MLR and locally within Texas and it’s great to see the growth that’s occurred. I feel now is the ideal time to be working with Quins to look at providing development opportunities for current players and transitioning athletes. As a Coach my focus is on developing a high tempo, attacking brand of rugby, allowing players to express themselves. Our culture and style of play will accelerate the development of intelligent rugby players giving the opportunity to showcase their capabilities ahead of the arrival of a Dallas area MLR team.”
